+ Tables
- Hours are not as late as I'd personally like-- would love to come here late at night!
The architecture here is a little different. We like it here. Parking is plentiful, but oddly usually pretty packed. However, there is a dead end Street that the library sits on, and people sometimes park there too.
This place sucks due to awful customer service even if I asked a simple question about the stupid retarded "18+" requirement and yet these morons didn't answer my question. Just don't go to this place
A room with three tables and attached charging stations is available in the back for studying. Would be nice if there were more tables, as each table seats 4 but there is always just one person hogging the table and requests to sit with them are usually not met well. Not the library's fault, but perhaps a few more 2-seater tables instead of only four 4-seater tables would be really helpful, especially if you have several people in your group.
Hours are convenient, but could be open later.
Security here is very very nice, something I cannot say about all public libraries.
+ Designated Outlets
Unlike the main library in town, or other libraries, there really isn't a place to sit and eat or have a picnic lunch. However, McDonald's is right down the road and the Aiea shopping mall is right there. There is a field right across the street, so if you have a picnic blanket and chairs that's a great option to sit with the family, read your books, and have a snack.
Staff is helpful and friendly.
One of the newer libraries on the island, this community library sits close to Aiea Shopping center but is set more where the old Sugar Mill used to be.
+ Hawaii State Library System (in short, you can return or request&pick-up any HSL book-- no matter where it's from on state-- at this location)
+ Computers
A quiet spot to focus, learn, and hide.
+ Room for studying
+ Movies
Recommend and would return.
Library is small, but pretty well stocked. Librarians are helpful if often busy. This Library offers a check yourself and your own books out option, to the left of the circulation desk as you are looking at the circulation desk from the entrance. If you have kids who like to be very Hands-On, they might enjoy this. There's a touch screen with directions, and it's kind of cool.
+ AC
As with all Hawaii public libraries, there is free Wi-Fi, access to ebooks, and the library will send you an email reminder a few days before your first books are due. Be warned that if you renew online, you may not receive an email reminder for your renewal due date.
Handicapped parking available. Bathrooms are very wheelchair-friendly.
- Met a few seemingly disinterested librarians, but not all are like that.
The books & selection here is on the smaller side as libraries go. However, the staff here are excellent, knowledgeable and love to help.
+ Books
The newly constructed Aiea Public Library is a great place for people to get the knowledge they crave. It is a branch of the Hawaii State Library System--meaning you can have books from the down town State Library delivered here!
Meeting rooms in a separate area away from the library, but very convenient. Outdoor bathroom but clean and well-maintained. Interior family bathroom near the circulation desk if you have small kiddos.
