Requested an asymetrical short Bob with a one inch shaved side. Was given a half high and tight with the otherside a lopsided bowl cut. Also another hair dresser aggressively shooshed my 1yr old.
I was very clear with what I wanted (A-line bob with an undercut), provided several pictures of myself with that haircut, from the front, side, back and showing the undercut. I asked for the front length to be untouched and the back to allow for just the bottom of the undercut to show. Somehow that meant please shave the entire back of my head to 1/4", so it stuck up at the top. Plus, there were three distinct lines of layers at the top of the back. I pointed this out and was told it must just be the coloring my my hair :-/
Oops, using my husbands account. But I had an appt with Keiko, I was about 15 min late but she took me as soon as I got in. They were busy especially because it is a Saturday. Keiko is the sweetest!!!! She listened to what I wanted & the outcome was AMAZING!! The whole staff there was amazing. Those who had "down time" made sure the store was clean and the ground was free of hair. I had such an amazing experience being it was my first time!
I've just left this salon and I'm sad to say that when I walked in I felt so uncomfortable. Now why would I feel uncomfortable? If you guessed that I'm a women of color you are correct. Everyone just stared at me like I didn't belong there. The story doesn't end there. When I got to my stylist she didn't have enough time to do my hair so she let me know that she could start and someone else could finish, and to add the cherry on top she went on to say that in plus with everything you're getting it could be 45 for the cut, 40 for the deep condition and so on and so forth. Even though I never asked for the price but my interpretation was that I couldn't afford it. I felt so awful leaving this place, the worst that I've ever felt in my life.
Hands down the WORST haircut I've ever had in my life. I've never cried over a haircut, (not even the drastic hack for bootcamp), but this I cried over. I've been wearing bandanas for the last month to cover it as much as possible and will never ever be back to this location. I highly recommend going elsewhere.
